I can't move past the station — what do I do?
Use the joystick at the bottom-left of the screen to fly your ship. The button at the bottom-right is the plasma trail — hold it down to emit a trail behind you, release it to glide silently. You don't need plasma to move; you only need it to mine or to close loops.
How do I mine a crystal or a core?
Fly your ship around the crystal in a circle while holding the plasma button. When your trail crosses itself and forms a closed ring around the resource, the loop snaps shut and the resource becomes loot. Loot then sticks to your trail and follows you home.
Why did I lose my loot when I died?
Asteroid Raider is a risk-vs-reward roguelite. When your ship is destroyed mid-haul, half of the loot you were carrying is lost forever and the other half is banked automatically. The longer you stay out without docking, the more you are gambling — that's intentional.
My pilot name doesn't show up on the leaderboard.
Make sure you are online when you finish a run — leaderboard submissions need internet. The leaderboard refreshes when you open the Top 100 modal. If your nickname appears in the local "rank #X" row at the bottom but not in the public list above, that usually means your score is outside the global Top 100 right now.
I bought an upgrade and the game didn't apply it.
Ship upgrades take effect at the start of your next run, not the current one. End your current run and the upgraded stats will be active when you launch again. If you still don't see the difference, write us with a screenshot.
How do I change my pilot name?
Pilot names are locked after the first save to keep the leaderboard honest. If you really need to change it — for example because of a typo — email us with the current nickname and the new one and we'll do it manually.
The game runs slow / drains my battery.
Close other apps in the background, especially anything streaming. Asteroid Raider is built to run smoothly on iPhone 11 and newer in landscape. If you're on an older device and runs feel choppy, please email the device model and iOS version so we can profile for it in a future patch.
Does the game work offline?
Yes. You can play, mine, upgrade, and score completely offline. The only feature that needs the internet is submitting and viewing the global leaderboard.
Reporting a bug
If something's clearly broken — softlock, crash, missing button — send a short report. The more of this we get, the faster we patch.
- What happened: one sentence is fine.
- What you were doing: in a run, in the shop, in the leaderboard, etc.
- Device: iPhone model and iOS version (Settings → General → About).
- App build: open the game and check the build number on the menu (bottom of the Guide).
- Screenshot or screen recording: if you can grab one, that's gold.

Data deletion
Asteroid Raider stores almost nothing on you, but if you want your leaderboard entry removed, write us with the pilot nickname displayed in the game and we'll delete it. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
